Team praised for £2million contracts success

Christmas came early for the team at Pride Park-based Hodgkinson. At a particularly challenging time in the world of business, they landed contracts worth £2million.

Managing director Ian Hodgkinson said this week that the company's successes were a result of “the hard work of a determined team, effective forward planning, and repeat customer business resulting from our reputation for delivering cost-effective quality services on time and within budget.”

He added: “This is a difficult time for industry in general and the building trade in particular. Our margins are tight and we are very fortunate in that while many companies are struggling, our future is looking pretty healthy.”

Hodgkinson's latest contracts include the new stadium for Leicester Tigers (£750,000), two new blocks at Nottingham Prison (£500,000 plus), a new nursing home at Chesterfield (£500,000), and a new school in Leicester (£200,000).

In recent months, the company has completed contracts for new schools in Leicester, Derby and Clay Cross, a major extension to Tesco supermarket in York, a new supermarket for Sainsbury and a leisure centre in Coventry, a new magistrates' building in Loughborough, and 60 new homes in Ilkeston as well as brick bridges for the town's inner relief road.
